Marvin Harris Stoloff of Millburn, N.J., passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2017, at the age of 85.
Born in Newark, N.J., to Esther and David Stoloff, he attended Weequahic High School and graduated in 1950. During high school, he was the south paw fencing champion. He attended NCE and after graduation went to serve his country in the Navy during the Korean War as a Tin Can Sailor.
After service in the Navy he established his own construction companies, Formative Construction and Structure Building Corp. For many years he was an officer of HOW and a member of NJBA. Marvin was a brother Mason and a past member of Congregation B'nai Israel and a charter member of B'nai B'rith.
Marvin was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed his family both in the water and on the slopes, boating and skiing. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Iris (Gold), his three children, Pamela (Michael) Frank of West Orange, N.J., Phillip (Lisa) Stoloff of Colorado, and Michael Stoloff of Florida. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Eric, Sydney, Taylor and Alyx.
Funeral services were held at Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union, N.J., on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at 11:15 a.m. Interment to follow at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge, N.J.
