Dr. Norman Rothenberg - Age 95
Services for Dr. Norman Rothenberg of Pompton Plains, formerly of Livingston, New Jersey and Del Ray Beach, Florida will be at Menorah Chapels on Friday March 17, 2017 at 11:30am. Dr. Rothenberg who died on March 12, 2017 was a dentist for 46 years with a private practice with his two sons in Livingston, New Jersey prior to his retirement in 1990. He attended Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey and graduated from N.Y.U. College of Dentistry in 1945. He was a dental resident at Newark Beth Israel Hospital. He served in the Army A.S.T.P. (Army Specialized Training Program) in World War II and as a Captain in the Army Dental Corps during the Korean War. Dr. Rothenberg was a member of the Essex County New Jersey Dental Society and a lifetime member of the American Dental Association. He also belonged to the Newark Dental Club. He was a staff member and attending dentist at Kessler Institute of Rehabilitation for almost 20 years. He also served in a similar capacity for 10 years at Theresa Gratta Rehabilitation Center, treating the elderly and disabled. He was born in Newark, New Jersey and practiced there for several years prior to moving there. He is predeceased by his wife Evelyn (Rosenbloom) and is survived by his wife Emily Rothenberg. Surviving is his daughter Joan S. Rothenberg and two sons Dr. Richard S. Rothenberg and his wife Susan and Dr. Glenn A. Rothenberg and his wife Jane. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
